Artist Jose Lozano talks about public art

Jose Lozano talks about the opening of the new Los Angeles Metro Station La Brea/ Expo with his artwork inspired in La Loteria mexican cards. Jose Lozano took photos of the people riding the Metro system and drew 44 cards that we (SolArt Gallery & Design) integrated into panels with different colors and with the distinctive Lozano style background of faces – all printed on tiles installed at the new metro station. We are proud to to see this event come to life April 28th from 11 am- 4 pm where free rides will be available as well as music and festivities. Thanks to Grammy nominated band La Santa Cecilia for letting us use their cover song of Caifanes – Viento from their new EP El Valor. More info on La Santa Cecilia check http://www.lasantacecilia.com. Recorded and edited by Carla J Zarate Suarez. Interview by Sali Heraldez. A SolArt Radio production. The woman slapping tortilla shapes makes like the rain hitting the cement floor. I like the smell of charcoal smoke, rotting vegetables and sheet metal rust. I think about it when it's 100 degrees and I'm driving in the desert.
